We are very lucky at Bulmer school, we get to learn in the forest at Wiggery Wood.

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1
Bulmer was one of the first Forest Schools in Essex. Every other Monday morning our children wrap up warm, put on their waterproofs and wellies and head off to spend the morning working in ‘Wiggery Wood.’ The wood belongs to Mr Cooper (one of our school governors) and is located close to school. They are able to experience a range of activities related to the curriculum, but outdoors! Squirrel Class are very proud of their part of the wood.

Key Stage 2 at Wiggery Wood
Forest School doesn't end at the end of Key Stage 1. Our Key Stage 2 children continue to enjoy learning in Wiggery Wood. Some of the activities have included setting a trail, lighting a fire, building dens, making rope ladders, learning about knots and cooking over the fire.
