We produce our very own tasty, homemade lunches. Mrs Park, our Catering Manager, creates new menus each term These are nutritionally balanced in line with the Government's recommendations. She uses fresh, locally sourced produce in her meals. Allergy information for any meal served for lunch is available on request from our kitchen. Mrs Park can cater for special diets; an appointment can be made through the school office to discuss your child's needs with her.
We are really proud of the rise in the standard of our lunches. Feedback from children, staff, parents and Governors has been wonderful.
We offer a hot home cooked lunch, filled baked potato or a freshly baked baguette, all with salad and a pudding.
A school lunch costs £2.15 per meal; this is for a two course lunch.
You can see this term's menus on the link below.
Free School Meals
Currently all Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children are entitled to a free school meal.
For older children the Government lay out the rules about who can apply for Free School Meals. They are then administered through the Local Education Authority, Essex County Council. In order to be eligible for Free School Meals parents or guardians must be in receipt of one of the following:
- Income Support
- Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based)
- Child Tax Credit, but not in receipt of Working Tax Credit, with an annual income of less than £16,190.00
- Support under Part vi of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit.
To apply for free school meals you will need to visit the Essex County Council website www.essex.gov.uk and complete the online application form. If your child is in Foundation or Key Stage 1 and therefore entitled to free school meals, it is still important to register for meals, this is because each child registered releases additional funding for school which goes to support the children. Please speak to the School office for further details.
