Aprons or an old shirt which can be washed at the end of term are needed for painting or ‘messy’ work. The Friends of Bulmer School PTA organise the selling of second-hand uniforms.
For reasons of safety, all items of jewellery are discouraged - loss or breakage causes considerable upset. In the case of children with pierced ears, we advise only the wearing of studs or sleepers and these must be removed for PE or covered with micro pore tape.
Whilst we keep a lost property box in the school, we are unable to take responsibility for items lost by the children while at school. Children are responsible for any property they bring to school. This applies to watches, toys and money, as well as clothing. Mobile phones are not permitted in school. As neither the school nor Essex County Council can be held responsible for any breakage or loss that occurs, it is better if such items are left at home.
